Our commitment to making the Site - and the salon - welcoming to everyone

Bon Cheveux Salon & Spa is committed to making our website and our salon welcoming to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe our value of Genuine Care extends to how we design and build our online presence - every person who visits should feel valued, respected, and able to reach us.

Our commitment

We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological differences.

We also aim to meet the accessibility expectations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable Washington State law.

What we've done

Our website is built on Wix, which provides accessibility features across every page. On boncheveuxsalon.com we have worked to:

  • Use clear, readable typography and sufficient color contrast

  • Provide descriptive alternative text (alt text) for meaningful images

  • Structure pages with proper headings so screen readers can navigate them

  • Label form fields clearly for assistive technology

  • Support keyboard navigation throughout the Site

  • Ensure links are descriptive and identifiable

  • Design layouts that adapt to mobile, tablet, and desktop screens

  • Avoid content that flashes or moves in ways that could cause discomfort

We use Wix's built-in accessibility tools to continually check our pages as we make updates.

Ongoing effort

Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time project. Because our website changes as we add new services, team members, and promotions, we regularly review pages to make sure they continue to meet our standard.

If a third-party tool or embedded feature (for example, an online booking widget, map, or social media feed) does not fully meet accessibility standards, we work with the provider or find an alternative wherever possible.

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content on the Site may not yet be fully accessible. Known areas we are actively working to improve include:

  • Third-party embedded content whose accessibility we do not directly control

We also strive to make our physical space welcoming. Our salon at 19880 7th Ave NE, Suite 104, Poulsbo, WA offers:

  • Ground-level entry

  • ADA-accessible parking nearby

  • An accessible restroom

  • Stylists happy too accommodate mobility, sensory, or communication needs - please let us know when booking so we can prepare
